Quickwrite #5

1971:
-Much more peaceful with a certain sense of mystery
-The witches seem to be covering something up but in the second clip they seem to be out to get something and purposefully evil
2010:
-Much more chaotic
-A lot creepier
-They were both very graphic but the second one was just confusing because they are on a ship and in the first clip they are on a beach burying something (covering it up?)

I liked the first one a lot better because the second clip was much more chaotic and I didn't really understand what was happening where in the first clip it was very clear that the 3 witches were related and there for a reason. The second clip was much more malicious and the witches were obviously trying to kill the man for his heart to give as an offering to someone names Macbeth. The second clip definitely didn't go along with the whole Shakespeare theme while the first one did. The second one reminded me of when they did the modern take on Romeo and Juliet and they changed the setting but not the overall story and maybe that is what the 2010 movie is like while the 1971 movie stays closely with the plot of the actual play.

Quick write #4

I loved the book Rebecca by Daphne Du Maurier. I thought that this book started out really slowly but then once it picked up it was amazing and I couldn't put it down. My friends even started a group text where we would talk about it and talk about what we think is going to happen. It was such a good book and should definitely be read for the next years for the seniors. I have even told all of my junior friends that they have to actually read the book because its so good! The book kept me intrigued the whole time and I was so excited to read the next chapters.
I think its a really good life lesson to teach people because there are so many people that aren't aware that you have to be careful and trust your instincts. I think that that is what this book is really all about are instincts and how trusting them is something that we must be about. I love this book and you should never get rid of it in the curriculum.

Quickwrite #3

I think that the movie is good but a lot of the plot is different. For example Maxim accidentally killed her vs in the movie he shot her meaningfully. It does follow the general plot but at the same time it is too changed and it doesn't truly keep to the plot. I like the book a lot better because it gives a lot more background. The movie definitely does a better job at developing characters and plot but the acting is terrible and some main plots are super different.
